The wheel spokes are machined from a forged blank, while the wheel beds are constructed from aluminium using flow-forming technology.

How are your AP. FORGED 10 processed?

The process of manufacturing forged wheels involves several keys steps to create strong, lightweight, and high-performing wheels. 

Here’s a simplified overview of our process

1. Raw Material Selection 

High-quality aluminium alloy billets are chosen for their strength and lightweight properties.

2. Heating

The aluminium billet is heated to a precise temperature to make it malleable, preparing it for the forging process.

3. Forging

The heated billet is placed into a forging press where it is compressed with immense pressure. The process re-aligns the metal’s gain structure, increasing its strength and toughness. 

The billet is often forged multiple times to refine the wheel shape.

4. Cooling

The forged wheel is cooled at a controlled rate to strengthen the metal further.

5. Pre-Machining

Any excess material is removed, and the wheel is roughly shaped to prepare for the next precision machining steps.

6. Heat Treatment

The wheel undergoes a heat treatment process to enhance its structural integrity and improve performance characteristics.

7. CNC Machining

Precision Computer Numerical Control ( CNC ) machines are used to sculpt the wheel to its final dimensions and design, creating features such as the spokes and centre holes with extreme accuracy.

8. Surface Finishing

The wheel is polished, painted, or given a specialized finish to enhance its appearance and protect against corrosion.

9. Quality Inspection

Each wheel undergoes rigorous quality checks, including x-ray inspections and dynamic balancing tests, to ensure it meets safety and performance standards.

10. Final Finishing

Any final detailing is added, and the wheels are cleaned and prepared for your shipment.
